Home of Charles III's brother raided. Trump: Arrest is very disgraceful - 1

British authorities will continue to search the former home of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in Berkshire after his release from custody, PA Media and DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

The former prince and brother of British King Charles III was detained yesterday on charges of abuse of power - a suspicion that arose after the publication of documents related to the late American financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew is the first senior member of the British royal family in modern history to be arrested. He was detained for about 11 hours before being released by Thames Valley Police, who are leading the investigation.

Police said the search of the mansion where Andrew currently lives had ended. Searches were continuing at an address in Berkshire, Andrew's former home at Windsor Castle. US President Donald Trump said the arrest was "very disgraceful". "I think it's very bad for the royal family," Trump said.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on his 66th birthday on charges that he shared sensitive information with Epstein while he was Britain's trade envoy. According to documents released by the US Department of Justice in the "Epstein" case, Andrew may have shared with Epstein information about his official visits to Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore.

Email correspondence from December 2010 reveals that Andrew sent Jeffrey Epstein a confidential report on investment opportunities in Afghanistan. King Charles III said in a statement that the police could count on "full and sincere support and cooperation" from the royal palace. "Let me be clear: the law must take its course," the monarch added.
