Iranian authorities have declared 40 days of public mourning and seven days off after the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the state news agency IRNA reported.

Earlier, the agency reported that Khamenei died as a result of an “attack by the Zionist regime and the United States“ on Saturday morning.

“Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, died as a result of an attack by the Zionist regime and the United States on Saturday morning“, IRNA quoted the official statement as saying.

Before This was announced by US President Donald Trump about the death of the Iranian leader.

“Khamenei, one of the most evil men in history, is dead“, Trump wrote in a post on his social platform “Truth Social“, adding that this is “the best opportunity for the Iranian people to take back their country“.
