US President Donald Trump has described his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky as an obstacle to an agreement with Russia, whose leader Vladimir Putin, according to him, is inclined to cooperate, dariknews.bg reported.
“Zelensky needs to tighten up and he needs to reach an agreement“, Trump said in an interview with “Politico“.
On the other hand, the Republican said that he believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to negotiate an end to the war.
“I think Putin is ready to make a deal“, the American president said.
When pressed to explain what Zelensky's obstacle to a peace agreement was, Trump refused to went into detail, but insisted that the Ukrainian leader was not showing enough willingness to negotiate.
“It is inconceivable that he would be the obstacle“, Trump said. “You don't have the cards. And now you have even fewer cards“.
