Two people were killed in a drone attack in northern Oman today, Agence France-Presse reported, citing state media, BTA reported.
The tragedy took place in the Sohar region, the capital of the Shamal al-Batin governorate (Al Batina North).
„Two drones crashed in Sohar province. One fell in the Al Awahi industrial zone, killing two foreign workers and injuring several people. The second crashed in the open, and there were no casualties,“ the Omani news agency reported, citing a security source.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia said it had shot down a drone targeting the diplomatic quarter of the capital Riyadh today, AFP reported.
Five drones were also destroyed in the Rub al-Khali desert region and in Al-Kharj, where the US-based Prince Sultan air base is located.
Iran has been carrying out strikes on countries in the Persian Gulf that host US military bases in response to the US-Israeli military campaign against the Islamic Republic that began on February 28.
