White House confirms: Vance will not travel to Pakistan VIDEO - 1

The White House confirmed the cancellation of US Vice President J.D. Vance's visit to Pakistan, where he was expected to lead the US delegation in talks with Iran again.

“In light of President Trump's post on Truth Social confirming that the United States expects a unified proposal from Iran, the visit to Pakistan will not take place today“, the vice president's press office quoted a White House spokesman as saying.

“The White House will provide an additional update on possible in-person meetings“, the press office added.

The US president has already announced on Truth Social his intention to extend the ceasefire with Iran, which was due to expire in the coming hours.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif thanked US President Donald Trump for extending the ceasefire and assured him that he would make every effort to resolve the conflict between Iran and the US.

“On my behalf and on behalf of Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, I sincerely thank President Trump for graciously accepting our request to extend the ceasefire so that diplomatic efforts can continue. In recognition of the trust reposed in him, Pakistan will continue to make every effort to resolve the conflict through negotiations. I sincerely hope that both sides will continue to respect the ceasefire and be able to conclude a comprehensive “peace agreement“ during the second round of talks scheduled in Islamabad to put a final end to the conflict“, he writes in X.

The participation of the Iranian delegation in a new round of talks with the American side is still under consideration. As stated by the Iranian ambassador to Tunisia Mir Massoud Hosseinian, the time and place of the talks depend on the actions of the United States.

“Currently, this issue remains under consideration and the final decision will be announced based on developments on the ground and diplomatic consultations. In any case, Iran's participation in the negotiations depends on the actions of the American side,“ the diplomat stressed.

According to him, “due to the significant differences in the positions of Iran and the United States, as well as Washington's policy of pressure and imposition of conditions, the decisive factor in determining the time and place of the next round will be the degree of commitment of the American side to the ceasefire conditions“.
