US President Donald Trump held a meeting today with his top national security advisers, at which Iran's new proposal to end the war was discussed, Reuters reports, citing White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt, BTA reports.
Levitt refused to comment directly on the content of the proposal, according to which the Strait of Hormuz should be opened and the issue of the Iranian nuclear program should be left for a later stage of possible negotiations.
However, she stressed that the position and conditions set by Trump have not changed.
According to her, the US president insists that the Strait of Hormuz be opened and Iran hand over its stocks of enriched uranium to the United States states.
Caroline Levitt added that journalists will learn personally from Donald Trump what his final position is on the new Iranian offer.
