Moscow after the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike in Starobilsk: Cynicism of Europeans in the UN Security Council is out of - 1

The level of cynicism among the European members of the UN Security Council is out of control, said Russia's permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya on Friday, commenting on statements made at a Security Council meeting regarding the attack by Ukrainian armed forces on a college in Starobilsk.

„I feel uncomfortable and ashamed for some of my colleagues in the Security Council. We knew we would hear something like this from the European members of the Security Council, but today their level of cynicism is out of control“, said Nebenzya.

According to him, the European representatives in the UN do not view children and students in Russia as human beings. "However, this dehumanizes not them, but you, sitting in this hall," he concluded.

At the same time, Nebenzya stressed that it is impossible to negotiate with the current Ukrainian authorities. According to him, the attacks by Ukrainian troops "clearly confirm Kiev's betrayal and inability to negotiate," Nebenzya said. Without the military operation in Ukraine, tragedies like the one in Starobilsk would have happened "every day," he added.

On the night of May 22, Ukrainian armed forces attacked the Starobilsk Vocational College of the Luhansk Pedagogical University in the LPR. The Kremlin called the attack on the college a monstrous crime. Four people died in the attack, and the LPR Ministry of Health reported 40 injuries.

According to the Investigative Committee, 86 students and one employee were in the dormitory at the time. The attack by Ukrainian armed forces on the dormitory in Starobilsk has been classified as a terrorist act. President Vladimir Putin also called the incident a terrorist act. A criminal investigation has been opened.
