A Russian delegation, led by the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SSR) Sergei Naryshkin, has visited the capital of the DPRK, Pyongyang.
This was revealed by the Central Telegraph Agency of North Korea (CTAK).
The visit lasted three days, it started on March 25 and ended the previous day, the agency reports. During this time, Naryshkin met with the Minister of State Security of the DPRK, Lee Chang-dai.
In addition, the Russian delegation held talks with officials of the country's Ministry of State Security.
The topic of the two meetings was in particular the situation around the Korean Peninsula, the Central Asian Trade Center reported. The representatives of the countries also touched on the situation around Russia and discussed the further deepening of cooperation.
Naryshkin's visit to Pyongyang was not announced in advance.
A day earlier, a North Korean delegation led by DPRK Minister of Foreign Economic Affairs Yun Jong-ho also visited Moscow.
According to the head of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, Alexander Kozlov, the parties intend to check the implementation of the agreements and decisions taken at the meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Pyongyang.
The press service of the ministry specified that the visit will last two days.
