Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal yesterday welcomed progress towards US military and budget aid worth $61 billion, which is blocked in Congress and said US officials had assured him that Kiev could expect new weapons within weeks after the aid was approved, Reuters reported, citing BTA.
Shmigal told a news conference that leaders of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and finance officials from many countries stressed that support for Ukraine remains a priority as the country continues to fight Russia's invasion.
Ukraine's prime minister said that Ukrainian officials had held detailed discussions on how to use frozen Russian assets for Kiev's benefit, and that he expected first results this year.
