Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said he discussed " the dire situation" in Gaza and how to increase humanitarian aid for the territory besieged by Israel with his Egyptian colleague Sameh Shukri during a meeting today in Istanbul, Ag. Reuters, quoted by BTA.
"We discussed what more we can do to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and what can be done in the long term for a two-state solution," Fidan said at a joint press conference with Shukri.
For his part, the Egyptian foreign minister called on Iran and Israel to exercise restraint amid tensions in the Middle East.
He also said that Egypt will host a Turkish delegation that will prepare a visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to Turkey in the near future.
