Working groups of the joint Tajik-Uzbek demarcation commission discussed the process of marking the common state border. The meeting was held from April 29 to May 4 in Dushanbe, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan announced.
According to him, representatives of the two countries have discussed the progress of the demarcation work and have prepared “mutually agreed proposals for the project for a demarcation line on the Tajik-Uzbek border”. Traditionally, the meeting took place in an allied spirit, and at the end of the event, a corresponding protocol was signed. The next meeting is also planned in Tajikistan.
The length of the Tajik-Uzbek border is more than 1300 kilometers. For citizens of both countries, the visa regime has been abolished for up to 30 days. In January 2021, regular flights between Dushanbe and Tashkent, suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, were restored.
