The Russian-appointed governor of the Crimean port city of Sevastopol, annexed by Moscow in 2014, said last night that the Russian military had repelled a missile attack on Sevastopol and as a result there was no damage to the civil infrastructure, BTA reported.
"In Sevastopol, the anti-aircraft defenses are working, there is coverage of a missile attack. All services have been put on standby," Mihail Razvozhaev wrote on his Telegram channel, TASS reported. The governor asked the residents of the city and its guests to remain calm, observe safety measures, stay in temporary shelters or in safe places. A few hours later, he reported that the attack had been repulsed and no damage had been done.
At the same time, a temporary suspension of traffic on the Crimean bridge was reported. The persons who were on the bridge and in the inspection area were asked to remain calm and follow the instructions of the transport security officials, TASS reported. A few hours later, traffic was restored.
Two people were injured in an attack by a Ukrainian drone in the Belgorod region in southern Russia, local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced late last night, as quoted by TASS and Reuters.
The village of Petrovka in the Belgorod region was attacked with a kamikaze drone. As a result of throwing the explosive device, a woman and a man received shrapnel wounds. The injured have been taken to hospital, the governor announced.
At the same time, the fighting in Kharkiv region continues. Ukrainian prosecutors said they were investigating attacks on civilians in two towns in the northeastern part of Kharkiv Oblast, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced successes for troops fighting a new Russian assault there, Reuters reported.
