The Russian occupation authorities announced that 19 people were killed in Ukrainian shelling of an occupied village in the southern Kherson region, reported DPA and Reuters, quoted by BTA.
The head of the regional administration appointed by Russia, Vladimir Saldo, wrote on the social network "Telegram" that a village shop in the village of Sadove was hit by a full of people. Five people were injured. Photos are attached to his post.
For now, there is no confirmation of the reported information from an independent source, the two agencies state.
If the data is correct, this will be one of the most devastating strikes by the Ukrainian army on its territory, which is under foreign rule, for more than two years since the beginning of the Russian aggression, DPA notes.
Sadove is located on the southern bank of the Dnieper River, shortly before it flows into the Black Sea. It is theoretically within range of artillery and missiles on the Ukrainian-controlled north bank of the Dnieper. But there are no reports of gunfights in the area.
Saldo talks about shelling with Western reactive systems for salvo fire HYMARS. He stated that the Ukrainian army shelled the village a second time when people from neighboring houses came to help after the first strike.
Rescue teams on the Ukrainian side have repeatedly reported similar double strikes: they say the Russian army fires again at targets when volunteers are already trying to rescue people or put out fires.
According to the occupation authorities, four people were killed and around 40 were injured in an attack yesterday on a residential building in the occupied eastern Ukrainian city of Luhansk.
Ukrainian authorities confirmed that the target of the attack was Russian military targets. Possible victims among the civilian population were attributed by them to the work of the Russian air defense, DPA notes.
