Before noon today, the polling station in the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Istanbul will be sealed. This was announced by the Consul General of our country, Vasil Valchev, for BNR and emphasized that the preparations for the elections went without difficulties.
166 polling stations have been opened in Turkey, again the country with the most polling stations abroad. In four of them, which are located in our diplomatic and consular representations in our southern neighbor, it will be possible to vote both for members of the National Assembly and for MEPs.
There will be machine voting in 109 sections.
Applications for voting outside of Bulgaria submitted by Turkey through the electronic system of the CEC are slightly over 23,500. Voters with confirmed applications are entered in the electoral lists by location. People who want to vote at open polling stations abroad without appearing on the lists will be able to do so by completing a declaration that they have not voted and will not go to the polls elsewhere.
Vasil Valchev explained that there are no delays in voting because of the “2 to 1” vote. The reason is that most voters here do not meet the residency requirement and will not be able to vote for MEPs. The interest of the voters will be on the elections for people's representatives.
