No change in terms of indicators to support the ruling Conservative Party ahead of the general election in the United Kingdom on July 4, which continues to lag behind the opposition Labor Party and is forecast to suffer a heavy defeat, Sky News reported, quoted by BNR.
"Sky News" quoted Lord Hayward, a Conservative member of the House of Lords and expert pollster, who found that the approval rating for the Tories stubbornly refused to change, that it was "simply frozen", as he put it.
The latest survey by "Sky News" shows Labor leading with 43.6% approval, while the Conservatives get 22.5%, a wide margin. Although Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is trying to woo right-wing forces with political promises on immigration and national security, Nigel Farage's Reform UK party already catching up with the Tories.
Lord Hayward said he believed the polls had somewhat overstated Labour's lead, but it was still solid. According to him, the "reformers" Farage's policies are very dangerous for everyone else because they take votes away from the bigger parties. He warns all parties to be aware of this because voter loyalty is extremely low these days.
Despite being a Conservative, Lord Hayward admitted that his party's chances of a majority were slim.
