Russian shelling caused the death of three civilians in the Kherson region, in southern Ukraine, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA, referring to the local authorities.
Prosecutors reported that two bodies were found under the rubble of a house shelled in the morning in a village near the town of Berislav, north of Kherson, the agency said.
The head of the Kherson regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, in his turn informed that an artillery projectile fired last night killed a person in a village south of the city of Kherson. Reuters makes the caveat that the information cannot be independently verified.
A fire broke out late last night after an accident in a gas pipeline near the village of Vinogradnoe, on the Crimean peninsula annexed by Moscow in 2014, and spread to a nearby forest, Reuters reported, citing Russian officials.

As a result of the incident, the gas supply to the resort town of Alushta and more than ten other settlements was cut off, added the Russian authorities, quoted by the agency.
"There is no danger to populated areas," the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations specified this morning in the "Telegram" application. There, the Russian-appointed authorities in the Crimean Peninsula clarified last night that 14 other settlements, apart from Alushta, remained without gas.
"After the gas in the gas pipeline pipes is completely burned, the work on its repair will begin," said in "Telegram" the Russian-appointed administration in the Crimean peninsula.
Citing official representatives, Russian agencies note that there were no casualties. The fire covered an area of nearly 1,500 square kilometers, according to TASS. At the moment, the cause of the fire has not been announced, according to Reuters.
Russian air defenses shot down fourteen Ukrainian drones yesterday in the Kursk and Belgorod regions, Reuters reported, citing local representatives and the military.
The Russian Defense Ministry said seven drones were intercepted over the Belgorod region, which is under almost daily attack by Ukrainian forces.
The governor of the Kursk region, Alexey Smirnov, also announced seven destroyed drones. He indicated that Ukrainian forces shelled about ten villages during the course of yesterday, the agency added.
Ukraine has a plan to neutralize Russian influence in the western waters of the Black Sea with a new national naval strategy, the country's president Volodymyr Zelensky announced in his traditional video address to the nation last night, as quoted by DPA. p>
"We are aware that the war has changed the balance of power in our Black Sea region and that the Russian Navy will never dominate these waters again,", Zelensky said. Ukraine will pursue its national interests and those of its partners by sea, as well as defend transport routes, the Ukrainian head of state said.
Russia established control over a large part of the Ukrainian navy when it annexed the Crimean peninsula in 2014, DPA recalls. Kiev lost more warships with the start of Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, when Russian forces captured the port city of Berdyansk in Zaporozhye Oblast.
Although the Ukrainian army currently does not have large warships, Kiev has managed to gradually push the Russian Black Sea Fleet out of the western waters of the Black Sea, the agency points out, adding that this has somewhat revived maritime trade through the city of Odessa.< /p>
