Russia considers necessary to build relations with both North Korea and South Korea, although Seoul has taken a hostile position in relation to Moscow, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by TASS, writes BTA.
Peskov's words are in connection with a statement by South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, according to whom Russia can only develop relations with "one of the two Koreas".
"We are against such an approach, we categorically disagree. . .We are in favor of building good relations with all the countries of the region - both with the DPRK and with South Korea. However, how can we build good relations with countries that take a hostile position towards us", asked Peskov rhetorically.
"What we have now in practice: we have a partner in the person of Pyongyang, and we have a country that has joined against the anti-Russian sanctions, in the person of Seoul. What Mr. President (South Korea's Yoon Suk-yeol) means is difficult to understand," Peskov also said.
