North Korea said it "condemns in the strongest terms" and that it "rejects" the declaration from the NATO summit, containing criticisms in connection with the alleged supply of weapons from Pyongyang to Russia, reported Agence France-Presse, citing the North Korean news agency KCTA.
In a statement from the NATO meeting, which took place in Washington from Tuesday to Thursday, the leaders of the alliance criticized North Korea, accusing it of "fueling Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine" with "the provision of direct military aid" of Moscow, specifies BTA.
The North Korean Foreign Ministry said it "condemns in the strongest possible manner and rejects "the (NATO) declaration".
NATO's declaration "is an aggressive program that incites a new cold war and global military confrontation,", a spokesman for the foreign policy department also said, quoted by KCTA.
Pyongyang has repeatedly denied supplying weapons to Moscow. In June, however, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an agreement providing for mutual military assistance in the event of an attack.
At the NATO summit, South Korea and the US agreed to create a large-scale deterrence system on the Korean Peninsula in response to North Korea's nuclear threats, AFP notes.
