Polish intelligence services have identified the illegal immigrant who fatally stabbed a soldier on the border with Belarus at the end of May, unofficially reported the radio station RMF FM.
According to her information, the investigators established that he is from the Middle East. It was possible to identify him after analysis of footage from video cameras at the border, interrogation of migrants in Poland, as well as thanks to informants from groups of migrants residing in Belarus. According to RMF FM, Polish intelligence services believe that the suspect in the murder of a Polish soldier is still in Belarus, but they say he may soon leave for Syria.
Republican officials have not yet confirmed this information. The head of the Ministry of Defense, Vladyslav Kosiniak-Kamish, refused to comment on the radio station's announcement, citing the fact that his department does not investigate the killing of a serviceman.
The incident involving an attack on a serviceman on the Polish-Belarusian border took place early in the morning on May 28. According to the command, an illegal migrant stabbed a soldier. On June 6, a serviceman died of his wounds at the Institute of Military Medicine in Warsaw. On the same day, the Polish Foreign Ministry delivered a protest note to the chargé d'affaires of Belarus. In it, the Polish authorities asked the Belarusian leadership to identify and hand over to Warsaw the illegal immigrant who attacked the Polish soldier.
