Donald Trump's doctor says the former president is recovering from a gunshot wound to the ear suffered at a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13. Although the wound is healing well, he is still bleeding intermittently and his hearing may need to be checked, Reuters reported.
Dr. Ronny Jackson, a Texas congressman and former doctor to Trump and Obama, said the bullet came less than half an inch from Trump's head, grazed the top of his right ear and left a wound with a width of two centimeters.
After the initial significant bleeding and swelling, the wound is now beginning to heal properly. Dr. Jackson, who monitors Trump's condition daily, added that no stitches were needed, but a bandage was still required because of the intermittent bleeding. Trump's hearing will be further tested if necessary.
Trump accepted the Republican Party's presidential nomination just five days after the incident.
