The Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Republican Mike Johnson, said on Sunday that President Joe Biden should resign immediately after his decision to terminate his candidacy for re-election.
„If Joe Biden is not fit to run for president, he is not fit to serve as president,” Johnson said, quoted by AP.
The senior Republican said Vice President Kamala Harris, who was endorsed by Biden, “co-owns the catastrophic political failures” of the Biden administration.
Johnson accused Harris of being a “joyful accomplice not only in the destruction of American sovereignty, security and prosperity, but also in the greatest political cover-up in US history”, saying she was aware of “ Biden's inability to fulfill his duties”.
