South Carolina Congresswoman Nancy Mays said she will introduce a resolution calling on Vice President Kamala Harris to invoke of the 25th Amendment to allow her to assume the duties of a sitting president.

Mays made the announcement hours after US President Joe Biden decided to end his re-election bid.
„If Joe Biden doesn't have the cognitive ability to seek re-election, he doesn't have the cognitive ability to serve out his term,” Mays wrote.
Biden has endorsed Harris as the Democratic nominee ahead of the 2024 Democratic National Convention
The forum is to be held from August 19 to 22. Several high-ranking Democrats, including former Presidents Obama and Clinton, as well as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, have endorsed Harris as the party's new nominee.
