US President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, has withdrawn his lawsuit against TV " Fox News" sued by him for publishing nude photos and videos of him in a show showing a fictitious trial against him over his foreign dealings, Reuters reported, citing a statement from his lawyers quoted by BTA.
The documents do not state a reason for withdrawing the claim. TV "ABC News" announced that Hunter Biden has dropped the suit with the intention of filing the same suit against new defendants.
Speaker of "Fox News" echoed previous company comments that the lawsuit was "politically motivated" and "without foundation".
For now, there is no comment from the lawyers of Hunter Biden and "Fox News", nor from other representatives of the media.
Television "Fox News" aired “The Trial of Hunter Biden" in 2022 on its streaming platform "Fox Nation", but took it down in April of this year under the threat of legal action from the main character's lawyers. The lawsuit was filed earlier this month.
The series features a fictional trial of Hunter Biden on charges of illegal lobbying and bribery, crimes for which he was never charged. Hunter Biden's lawsuit against the media noted that the series included intimate photos and videos of Hunter Biden.
The withdrawal of the lawsuit was announced hours after Hunter's father, Joe Biden, dropped out of the 2024 presidential race under pressure from fellow Democrats, Reuters noted.
