< p>About 100 armed members of the Palestinian extremist organization “Hamas” have been eliminated since the beginning of the last Israeli operation in the city of Khan Younis in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced today, quoted by DPA, BTA writes.
The offensive began on Monday after Israeli intelligence warned that “Hamas“ have managed to regroup in the city.
The operation also aimed to recover the bodies of five Israeli hostages.
The information cannot be independently confirmed, DPA reports.
According to the Gaza Strip Health Ministry, there have been countless civilian casualties from airstrikes and tank fire.
The war in Gaza was triggered by the unprecedented slaughter of over 1,200 people by fighters of “Hamas” in southern Israel on October 7 last year.
Gaza's health ministry, which is controlled by Hamas, says around 39,000 people have died in the densely populated coastal enclave since fighting began there.
