More than 30 thousand residential properties in the Belgorod region have been destroyed due to attacks by the armed forces of Ukraine, the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov reported, quoted by the "BBC", quoted by News.bg .
Gladkov reported the scale of devastation in the region caused by Ukrainian airstrikes, which began after Russian troops invaded Ukraine in February 2022 and have intensified since the end of last year.
"736 houses and apartments were restored in one week, and in total, since February 2022, more than 30 thousand houses and apartments have been destroyed in the Belgorod region. More than 24,000 have been restored to date," Gladkov wrote on his VKontakte social network page.
The border territories of the Belgorod Region have been subject to regular shelling from the Ukrainian side since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Civilians have been killed and injured, and a state of emergency has been introduced in 15 border settlements.
From July 23, access to 14 border settlements from Shebekinsky and Graivoronsky, Belgorod, Borisov and Krasnoyaruzhsky districts, which are most exposed to shelling, has been restricted.
