Iran wants emergency OIC meeting after killing of Hamas leader - 1

Amid growing tensions in the Middle East, Iran wants to discuss with Islamic countries the killing of the leader of "Hamas" Ismail Hania, quoted by News.bg.

For this purpose, an extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is planned for Wednesday in Saudi Arabia, where the OIC is headquartered.

Participants in the meeting in the coastal city of Jeddah are to discuss the "crimes of the Israeli occupation", including the "murder" of Hania, according to the organization, which includes 57 Islamic countries.

Iran holds Israel responsible for last week's assassination of Haniya in Tehran and has threatened the country with retaliatory measures. Therefore, an Iranian counterattack against Israel is expected soon.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran, Iran has requested the OIC meeting jointly with Pakistan. The organization is considered the voice of the Muslim world. Unlike the smaller Arab League, it also includes influential non-Arab states.
