Russian authorities arrested the head of the Patriotic Park (Military Exhibition) of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Vyacheslav Akhmedov, and the deputy head of the Directorate for Innovation Development, Major General Vladimir Shesterov. Specifically, there are suspicions that Akhmedov and Shesterov embezzled more than 40 million rubles (approximately $471,000) from public procurement for the park. It is reported that the construction of the Patriotic Park was provoked by the personal desire of the former Russian Minister of Defense and current Secretary of the Security Council, Sergei Shoigu.
The construction of the park was led by Russia's former deputy defense minister, Timur Ivanov, who was also recently arrested.
An inside source, who previously made predictions that have been confirmed, announced that the head of the Main Armored Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense will also be replaced in the near future. This is Lieutenant General Alexander Shestakov.
