New York authorities have charged two young parents with involuntary manslaughter in the western part of the state of New York, reported the Associated Press, quoted by BTA.

Sulamain Hawkins and Anastasia Weaver, 19, were at their Rochester, N.Y., home on Aug. 3 when they left their sleeping baby alone in the attic with the dogs and went downstairs to smoke marijuana, police said. message.

When they returned, the parents found that the baby – Sulamain Hawkins Jr. was attacked by one or both dogs. The child was taken to hospital, where he died.

After an investigation by police, child protective services and the Monroe County District Attorney's Office in western New York state, the two parents were arrested and charged with manslaughter. They are due back in court on August 27.

The two dogs were euthanized, the police said.
