There is unofficial information that the Ukrainian army in Donbas is about to collapse - 1

If in the coming weeks there is no counteroffensive operation from the Ukrainian side in the Donetsk region, then the front there may literally collapse, because the situation for The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is very heavy.

This was stated by the Ukrainian military expert and historian Mykhailo Zhirokhov to Radio NV. According to him, there have been “big changes” on the front in Donbas, which are not in favor of the Ukrainian army. It is said that there is a threat of the front collapsing, UNIAN reported.

„There is unofficial information, which unfortunately is very heavy. I understand why Kyiv does not officially announce it. In recent days, big changes have happened, but not in our favor”, said Zhirokhov.

The Russian army is advancing in Donbass and Zhirokhov is convinced that the Ukrainian army must soon go on a counteroffensive in order not to be defeated. Eastern Ukraine is where the heaviest fighting is taking place on the frontline, with the Russian army making slow but methodical advances in recent weeks.

In the early hours of August 6, the ZSU carried out a surprise invasion in the Kursk region, one of the goals of which was to get Vladimir Putin to move troops from the Donbass to Kursk. However, this is not happening, because the Donetsk region continues to be the main priority for the Russian aggressor, who launched a full-scale war against Ukraine in February 2022.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said yesterday that peace talks with Vladimir Putin at this point would be “in vain” and “meaningless”. “The world is waiting for Ukraine to present a compromise plan on how to end the war. It's not that there can't be compromises with Putin, but holding a dialogue with Putin today is in vain, pointless, because he doesn't want to end the war diplomatically, Zelensky stressed. Putin's terms mean the capitulation of Ukraine – the Russian president demanded that it give up 1/5 of its territory, as well as future entry into NATO.
