At least 11 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, Palestinian health officials reported, BBC reported, quoted by News.bg.
According to the information, five people were killed in an airstrike in the al-Fara refugee camp, and six — in a drone strike and armed clashes in Jenin.
Earlier today, Israeli security forces said they were conducting a "anti-terrorist operation to thwart terrorism" in Jenin and Tulkarm, but there were also attacks in the cities of Nablus and Tubas.
This is believed to be the first time since the Second Intifada that several Palestinian cities have been attacked simultaneously in this way.
Palestinian reports say the main roads to Jenin have been closed due to armed clashes in the city's refugee camp.
An Israeli airstrike reportedly targeted a vehicle in the nearby village of Prizori, and Israeli forces entered a hospital in Jenin and blocked two more in Tulkarm. Israeli military strikes in Nablus have focused on two refugee camps there.
In the Farah camp, near Tubas, medics say ambulances are struggling to reach the injured after an Israeli drone strike.
Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Katz said that the Israel Defense Forces "have been operating in full force since last night in the Jenin and Tulkarm refugee camps to destroy the Iranian-Islamic terrorist infrastructures established there."
The Israeli military did not elaborate, but said the Defense Forces, Israel's internal security service Shin Bet and Israel Border Police forces are "currently conducting an anti-terrorist operation to thwart terror in Jenin and Tulkarm."
