Two people died and ten were injured on Friday when the roof of a Catholic church collapsed in northeastern Brazil the city of Recife, reported France Press, quoted by BTA, citing the authorities.
"With great sadness they learned about the two dead and the dozen injured, some of whom are in a critical condition,", Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva wrote on the social network, describing what happened as a "tragedy".
According to some Brazilian media reports, 22 people were injured in the incident.
The roof of the church collapsed while food was being distributed in the church to residents of Recife, reports AFP.
