The helicopters of the rescue teams have found the missing Mi-8 in Kamchatka. This was announced by the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory, Sergey Lebedev, Interfax reports, as quoted by Focus.

"The missing board has been found. According to preliminary data, he crashed," Lebedev said.

From the management of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the region, it was announced that "the remains of the previously missing helicopter were found from the air. They are located at an altitude of 900 meters, near the place where the last contact was made."

There is no official information about the death of passengers and crew.

Earlier, the Kamchatka Transport Investigative Department of the Eastern Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case on the fact of the loss of contact with the Mi-8 helicopter under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: "Violation of safety rules of the movement and operation of air transport."

On August 31, a Mi-8 helicopter, which was on its way from the landing site near the Vakazhets mountain massif to the village of Nikolaevka in the Elizovsky district, failed to arrive at its destination. Contact with the crew of the aircraft was lost five minutes after take off. According to preliminary information, there may have been 19 passengers and three crew members on board.
