US President Joe Biden condemned the Russian attack in Poltava , reported France Press, quoted by BTA.
Fifty-one people were killed and 271 injured, according to authorities, in the missile attack on a military institute in the northeastern Ukrainian city. White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby condemned the attack as evidence of Russian President Vladimir Putin's brutality.
"This attack is a tragic reminder of Putin's persistent and outrageous attempts to subvert the will of a free people,'' Biden added in a statement. He promised that the United States would "continue" to support the Ukrainians, "specifically by providing them with the air defense systems and capabilities they need to defend their country".
