Taiwanese fighter "Mirage" crashed yesterday near the northwestern coast of Taiwan, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA, citing Taiwan's Central News Agency.
Taiwan's defense ministry said the French-made fighter jet was conducting a night exercise when it lost power and crashed into the sea. The pilot managed to eject.
Rescuers found the pilot conscious several hours later. He was taken to port by a Coast Guard vessel and then taken to a hospital.
There have been several cases of Taiwanese military aircraft crashes in recent years, Reuters notes.
