British Foreign Secretary David Lammy has called for an immediate end to the fire between Israel and “Hezbollah”, BNR reported.
Earlier he urged the British to leave Lebanon as things could “get worse quickly”.
David Lammy made the call during his official visit to Paris, where he met with his European counterparts, including from Italy and Germany, as well as US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. Earlier in posts on the social network X David Lammy indicated that he was concerned by the "rising tensions and the number of civilian casualties" in Lebanon amid ongoing hostilities between Israel and “Hezbollah”.
Israel carried out airstrikes on southern Lebanon, while at the same time the leader of “Hezbollah“ Hassan Nasrallah has vowed revenge following this week's exploding pager attacks targeting the group's fighters.
David Lammy informed that he spoke with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and expressed his deep concern about the events. The UK's top diplomat added that the two discussed the need for talks to restore stability on both sides of the border.
„My message to British citizens in Lebanon is to leave while conditions still allow it,” concluded David Lammy.
