The President said this in his daily evening address to his countrymen.
He made this statement after a meeting with Ukrainian senior commanders that lasted more than two and a half hours. "Everything that can be done this fall, everything that can be accomplished must be accomplished," he said.
Ukrainian military bloggers have reported in recent days that Russian forces are advancing on the town of Ugledar, in the southern part of Donetsk Oblast.
Russian forces have also been slowly advancing for months in the north, aiming to capture all of Donbas, which consists of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Russia's Defense Ministry said today that Russian forces have captured the village of Nelipivka, south of the city of Toretsk, one of Moscow's targets in the area.
