„Imagine the frustration of a country that has done everything that is asked of it, only to be told that the target is still out of reach (EU).“ This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Timcho Mutsunski, at the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where he spoke about the process of the country's integration into the EU, dariknews.bg reported.
“How do you keep your hope when you feel that the principles on which the Union is based - solidarity, justice and unity - are not applied equally? On the way to the EU, we experienced deep injustices, Mutsunski added.
"We went through name changes, identity debates and historical debates just to meet the demands that were put before us. Many will say that we should not regret this for the sake of achieving peace and progress, but we cannot ignore the emotional cost that has been inflicted on our people."
"The sense of betrayal runs deep, especially when our sincere efforts to comply with European standards are met with further delays and uncertainty. Yet we refuse to give in to despair. We will not allow these injustices to fuel Euroscepticism. We will continue to fight for our rightful place in Europe”, declared Mutsunski.
