Iran announced today that the body of General Abbas Nilforoushan was found, who was killed by Israel in Lebanon late last month along with the leader of the pro-Iranian Lebanese group “Hezbollah” Hassan Nasrallah, reported France Press, quoted by BTA.

„The body of martyr Abbas Nilforushan was found thanks to unceasing efforts,”, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) - Iran's ideological army - said, adding that the date for the repatriation of the body and the burial will be announced on -late.

Abbas Nilforoushan, one of the main commanders of the Quds Force, the elite unit of the KGIR, was killed on September 27 along with Nasrallah in an Israeli strike in a southern suburb of the Lebanese capital Beirut.

The Guards said that the firing of about 200 Iranian rockets at Israel on October 1 was in retaliation for the killings of Nilforoushan, Nasrallah and the leader of the Palestinian movement “Hamas” Ismail Haniya, who was killed in July in Tehran.

Since then, Israel has threatened to strike back. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant warned that the attack would be “deadly, precise and surprising”, to which Tehran responded that it “is ready” for her, notes AFP.

Meanwhile, it has become clear that about 270 thousand Afghans must leave Iran in the next six months, said a high-ranking representative of the Islamic Republic, quoted by DPA and BTA.

The official in question from the border province of Razavi Khorasan noted that this represented an increase of approximately 40% compared to last year.

Among these Afghans are people without a residence permit, as well as those who have agreed to leave Iran voluntarily.

„Identification of illegal foreign citizens in the country and their return” is considered one of the most important projects of the interior ministry, said Hossein Sharafati Rad, the head of the local migration office.

He added that about 60 thousand Afghans have legally enrolled in schools and universities in the provincial capital Mashhad.

The third largest city in Iran is located about 250 kilometers from the border with Afghanistan, according to DPA.

Iran's government has set itself the goal of deporting about two million foreigners without the necessary documents by the end of March next year. For months, there have been disputes in the country regarding the large number of refugees from Afghanistan who fled their homeland after the Taliban retook power there more than three years ago, DPA notes.

According to UN estimates, nearly 4.5 million Afghans live in Iran, many of whom do not have the necessary documents. However, according to some Iranian media, their number is six or even eight million.
