Iran condemns new EU and UK sanctions, denies ballistic missile transfers to Russia - 1

Iran strongly condemned new sanctions imposed by the European Union and Britain, denying accusations that he supplied ballistic missiles to Russia for the war in Ukraine. According to the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghayeh, these claims are baseless and there is no evidence of Iran's involvement in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. In a post on the X social network, he emphasized that the imposition of such sanctions is in violation of international law, quoted by News.bg.

The sanctions approved by the European Union cover seven individuals and seven organizations, including Iranian airlines such as Iran Air, Saha Airlines and Mahan Air, as well as Iran's deputy defense minister, Seyed Hamzeh Galanzari. Britain also expanded its sanctions, adding nine new individuals to the list.

Allegations that Russia had received ballistic missiles from Iran were initially made by the US, which cited intelligence. However, Iran continues to reject these claims and criticizes the sanctions as groundless and contrary to international norms. EU sanctions include asset freezes and EU travel bans for the individuals and organizations on the list.
