Israel warned Iran through third parties on Friday of the impending attack and asked Islamic State not to respond, threatening an even stronger strike , if he does, the portal Axios reports, citing its sources.

So Israel has tried to prevent further escalation and limit the exchange of retaliatory strikes between the two countries. “The Israelis made it clear in advance to the Iranians which targets in general they would attack and which they would not,”, the portal's source notes.

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari issued a warning this morning to Tehran not to continue the escalation after the end of Israel's retaliatory attacks against Iran, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

"If the regime in Iran makes the mistake of starting a new round of escalation - we will have to respond," Hagari said.

"Our message is clear: anyone who threatens Israel and tries to drag the region into a wider escalation will pay a heavy price," he said.

"Today we have demonstrated that we have both the capabilities and the courage to act decisively and we are ready - both offensively and defensively - to defend Israel and the Israeli people,", Hagari stressed.

In his words, attacks on military targets in Iran have prevented immediate threats to Israel.

Saudi Arabia condemned the Israeli attack on Iran, calling it a violation of international law and the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

„The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemns the military attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which are a violation of its sovereignty and international laws, reaffirms its firm position, which is rejection of the ongoing escalation and expansion of the conflict, which threatens the security and stability of the countries of the region and their peoples," the statement said.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry called on the parties to the conflict to exercise maximum restraint, warning of the negative consequences of the escalation in the Middle East. “The Kingdom calls on the international community and participating countries to fulfill their obligations to de-escalate and prevent and mitigate conflicts in the region,”, it added.

The oil refinery in Tehran was not the target of the Israeli military strike and continues to operate normally, company representative Shaker Hafai said.

"The Tehran oil refinery is currently operating as usual. There were no attacks on the facilities of this oil refinery,”, Hafai said, quoted by the press service of Iran's oil ministry. He also announced the readiness of the enterprise's air defense systems to repel possible attacks on the refinery.

Tehran Oil Refinery, one of the largest refineries in the country, provides about 15% of Iran's oil refining capacity. The plant produces gasoline, diesel fuel, gas oil, fuel oil and other petroleum products. The company is located in the southern part of Tehran province.
