Hezbollah announced Naim Qassem as its new leader - 1

Lebanese terrorist militia "Hezbollah" has chosen its deputy secretary-general, Naim Qassem, to succeed its slain leader Hassan Nasrallah. This was announced this morning by the militia itself, which continues to be under the blows of Israel.

Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli airstrike on a southern suburb of Beirut more than a month ago.

The group said in a written statement that its Shura Council had chosen Qasem, 71, in accordance with the established mechanism for selecting a secretary-general.

Naim Qassem was appointed deputy head of "Hezbollah" in 1991 by the then Secretary General of the armed group, Abbas al-Musawi, who was killed in an Israeli helicopter attack the following year, 1992. Since then, Kasem has held this post, despite the change of leaders.
