US President-elect Donald Trump said that Joe Biden's decision to pardon his son Hunter was a flagrant example of abuse and miscarriage of justice.
„Does the pardon granted to Joe Hunter include the “hostages” since January 6, who have been in prison for several years? Such abuse and violation of justice!“ - wrote Trump on his page in the social network Truth Social.
Under “hostages“ on January 6, he is referring to the participants in the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. According to the newly elected president and his supporters, some of them were unjustly persecuted.
U.S. House of Representatives Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Green believes that with the pardon, Biden has admitted that his son is actually a criminal.
"Biden tried to send Trump's sons to prison, but let his son go free even though he was convicted,” wrote Taylor-Green on Sunday in X.
The lawmaker also noted that FBI and Justice Department officials had previously searched the rooms of Trump's son and wife. She added that Biden is “a liar and a hypocrite”.
Taylor-Green also commented on Joe Biden's earlier post on X, which said: “No one is above the law”. “As it turns out, Hunter is better. But who will take pity on Joe?“ - she noted.
On Sunday, Biden announced that he had pardoned his son. The pardon covers the period from January 1, 2014. until December 1, 2024 in two lawsuits in Delaware and California. Hunter Biden was charged with violations of Delaware's firearms law. He was found guilty. In California, the son of an American leader pleaded guilty to tax evasion.
