The foreign ministers of Turkey and Iraq Hakan Fidan and Fuad Mohammed Hussein agreed on close cooperation to resolve the situation in Syria, Turkish Foreign Ministry sources told TASS after a ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the Doha Forum in Qatar.
"Minister Fidan met today with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hussein on the sidelines of the 22nd Forum in Doha. The parties agreed on close cooperation on issues related to Syria”, the sources noted.
Earlier it was reported that a meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries that are guarantors of the Astana format was held on the sidelines of the summit in Qatar: Russia, Iran and Turkey . Talks in Astana to resolve the Syrian crisis, known as the Astana format, have been ongoing since 2017.
