In the German city of Bremerhaven, police have detained a man who threatened to commit criminal acts at the local Christmas market in a TikTok video, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
The police were able to quickly identify the man after receiving a tip about the video on the social network. Details about his identity and plans for the attack were not released.
The news came shortly after a 50-year-old man drove his car into visitors to a Christmas market in the city of Magdeburg on Friday evening. Five people were killed and 200 were injured. Among the dead was a 9-year-old child.
A group of right-wing extremists attacked a left-wing politician and two other people in the German province of Saxony, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
The attack took place in the city of Görlitz. The suspects in the attack are between 5 and 10 people from the far-right spectrum. The injured are two women and one man, and among the injured is Samara Schrenk, who is part of the "Left" party.
She told the media that she and two other people were going to the "Left" office in the city when they were attacked by a group of masked people. According to her, there were between 8 and 10 attackers and everything happened very quickly. She says she was knocked to the ground and kicked.
The regional association of the "Left" expressed shock at the attack.
