Several countries have already expressed their readiness to host a possible meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President-elect Donald Trump. This was announced by Yuri Ushakov, Putin's advisor, to Sky News, quoted by Focus.

"We have already received several proposals for this from different countries. I will not say which countries these are, so as not to prejudge the possible or impossible development of events, but such proposals have been made and are being made", he explained.

Trump's statement on the meeting and the war in Ukraine

On December 22, Donald Trump expressed his desire to meet with Vladimir Putin in order to seek a solution to the war in Ukraine. Trump called the conflict "terrible" and stressed that if he were the US president, the war would not have started.

Kremlin: No conditions for a meeting yet

Despite the expressed readiness to host the meeting, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that "there are still no prerequisites for organizing a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President-elect Donald Trump".

Putin: Readiness for discussion

Last week, Vladimir Putin, during his direct line with citizens, stated that he was ready for a meeting with Trump. According to him, the two leaders would have many important topics to discuss if an agreement for such a meeting was reached.
