The Chinese parliament has expressed strong protest over the discrediting of the country through the US defense budget for 2025.
This was stated by the official representative of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress Xu Dong, commenting on the adopted US defense budget of 895 billion dollars.
“We express our strong dissatisfaction and strong protest on this issue“, said Xu Dong. This decision continues to inflate the “Chinese threat“ and to raise a fuss about military support for Taiwan. The US authorities continue to suppress China's technological and economic development, restrict Sino-US trade, economic and cultural exchanges, grossly interfere in China's internal affairs, and undermine China's sovereignty, security and development interests," Xu Dong said.
According to him, the Taiwan issue, democracy, human rights, political system and the right to development "are China's red lines that cannot be crossed."
US President Joe Biden on Monday approved the country's defense budget for the fiscal year 2025 (which began on October 1) of $895 billion, in which China is mentioned 107 times.
