German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in a serious plane crash in South Korea. The tragedy occurred at Muan International Airport, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
“We have received the terrible news about the plane crash in South Korea, which claimed many lives. We express our condolences to the relatives of those killed in the crash and wish the injured a speedy recovery,“ Scholz wrote in a post on the X platform.
The South Korean fire department reported that at least 167 people died after a “Jeju Air“ (Jeju Air) crashed on landing. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, with details to be released at a later stage.
This tragedy is one of the most serious aviation disasters in South Korea in recent years and has sparked an international outpouring of solidarity and support.
