Last year, Russia shelled Kharkiv 318 times, killing 94 people and injuring over 1,100, said the city's mayor Igor Terekhov, quoted by Ukrinform and BTA.
"Last year, the enemy shelled the city 318 times. Rockets, drones and aerial bombs. These explosions woke us up in the middle of the night, destroyed our homes and took lives. Ninety-four people died, including three children, 1,108 were injured, including 62 children," Terekhov said.
Air raid sirens in 2024 have been triggered 2,113 times over a total of 3,764 hours, which is 156 days.
"Almost half a year without normal sleep, in constant fear for themselves and their loved ones. The enemy sees no boundaries. Their missiles do not care whether it is a school or an apartment building, a hospital or a playground. For them, we are all just targets. But Russia does not understand the main thing: our spirit is indestructible! Every air alert, every strike only proves that Kharkov is a hero city that never surrenders," Terekhov also said.
On December 25, the Russian army carried out massive strikes in different areas of Kharkov. Six people were injured in the attack.
