US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the southern route through the Strait of Hormuz remains open to commercial shipping, with ships continuing to transit the waterway, AP reports.
CENTCOM also said that US forces have helped more than 1,000 commercial ships pass through the strait in the last three months.
The command said the assistance continued amid what it called "unprovoked Iranian aggression", adding that "these crossings continue today".
