At least 22 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian health officials said, quoted by Reuters. The dead include 10 people from an airstrike on a multi-storey building in the "Sheikh Radwan" neighborhood of Gaza, as well as another 5 from an attack in the Zeitoun suburb. Seven people were killed in the Jabalia refugee camp and in central Gaza, where hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians are located, quoted by BTA.
The Israeli army confirmed that the strikes were targeting "Hamas" militants operating from a school in Jabalia, and the armed forces have taken measures to minimize the risk to civilians.
Today, 15 months after the start of the Israeli offensive, the death toll in Gaza has already exceeded 46,000 Palestinians. However, international mediators from the United States, Egypt and Qatar continue to try to achieve a ceasefire, with the United States pushing for an agreement before Donald Trump takes office.
Despite peace efforts, the Israeli and "Hamas" accuse each other of blocking an agreement. Israel is demanding the destruction of "Hamas" and the release of all hostages, while "Hamas" is demanding a halt to the war and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.
Health authorities in Gaza said that the "Nasr" and the European Hospital in Gaza hospitals could stop operating if fuel restrictions continue, but a limited amount has been received, allowing the hospitals to continue operating at least until tomorrow.
